Welcome to my website!
I’m Matthieu, a Machine Learning scientist at AbbVie. I build models and software to accelerate the drug discovery pipeline, helping chemists discover better drugs faster.
I’m motivated by real, measurable business impact and by building tools that people actually enjoy using.
My Python programming journey began in 2020 with geothermal simulation work at Geosophy.io, where I discovered the satisfication of replicating real-world phenomena using first principles and a bit of compute. Shortly thereafter, I began to self-teach myself data science and machine learning during an internship at EssilorLuxottica, and later gained hands-on exposure to deep learning during the summer of 2022 at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging.
In 2023, I joined Moderna as a data science intern in cheminformatics, which became my entry point into the pharma industry. There, I learned how embracing software development and coding best practices could dramatically scale the impact of data science work inside a large organization.
I studied engineering at ESPCI Paris and Columbia University. My education gave me a solid foundation in both theoretical and applied physics and chemistry—knowledge that helps me approach problems systematically and keeps me learning every day.
